The arch shaped seat backs have a carved head-rail and sit above a a moulded and carved frieze supported on front legs which are carved with acanthus leaves and paw feet and back legs which are paneled and sweep backwards to match the rake of the back.

These generously proportioned chairs with their sweeping back legs, wide seats and tall backs are of the most exceptional quality. They may be described as ‘High Regency’ and epitomise the boldness and confidence of that period of English history.
