A George III Mahogany Circular Rent or Drum Table

Height: 30" 76.5cm
Diameter: 37" 94cm
Origination: English
Circa: 1765

A very good Chippendale period rent table which retains its original swan-neck handles and has not been re-polished, hence the glorious golden colour. The base which has two real and two dummy drawers benefits form the ogee mouldings on the doors.

As is normal with these tables, the top is leather lined and turns on the base allowing access to all the drawers without the ‘estate agent’ having to move. The letters represent the first letter of the name of each farm being rented out on a large estate.
